Use the Questions tab in StoryCreator to select which calculation type to apply and which questions and responses to show in the chart. The list of questions is filtered by calculation type, shown at the top left of the screen. Questions are grouped into two types: Categorical and Numeric.
1: Questions Tab
1. Show Result As: Use this toggle to control which questions are available for selection and which calculation types can be applied.
Categorical: Displays results based on the number of responses for each response option. Available calculation types include Percentage share, Mean, Count, and Correlation analysis.
Numerical: Displays results based on the values assigned to each response. Available calculation types include Sum, Mean, Median, Min, Max, Percentile, and Correlation analysis
Note: Not all calculation types are available for every question. For example, percentage calculations aren't available for open numeric questions.
2. Base in Percentage Calculation: This dropdown lets you define what the percentage values in your chart are based on. You can choose from the following options:
From shown question: Percentages are based on the total number of responses to the selected question.
From total in project and filter combination: Percentages are calculated from all responses within the full dataset, based on the applied filters.
From other question: Lets you use another question as the base.
3. Show Code (Questions): When enabled, question codes (for example, Q1, Q12) are shown alongside question texts in the list.
4. Show Code (Answers): When enabled, answer codes are shown next to each response option.
5. Search Questions: Type here to locate a question in the list.
6. Search Answers: After selecting a question, type here to find specific answer options.
7. Questions List: Shows all the questions available in your current dataset. Use this list to select a question, which opens the corresponding answer list for that question.
8. Answers List: After selecting a question, use this list to select specific answer options.
9. Calculate Result: Select this button after selecting or changing your questions and settings. This displays updated values in the chart.
1.1: Looped Question
If the loop iterator is enabled in your project, when you select a looped question, an additional column for filters will display to the right of the ANSWERS column.
To learn how to enable the loop iterator as an Administrator, see Project Settings--4.1: Looped Data.
If the filter column does not display, your Administrator has disabled that filter.
