All project settings administration tasks are found on a single Project settings page. Functions in the Project settings page include:
Performance settings
Layouts and Formats
Calculations and Results
Access rights
Project name and location
Beta settings
To access Project Settings, select Project Settings from the left side bar while in ADMINISTRATE.
The Project settings page is divided into multiple sub-pages. An overview of the sub-pages is provided below:
1: Performance
The Performance section includes in-memory, caching updates and slide, filter, and variable loading logic.
These settings boost performance when loading pages (such as StoryTeller and project navigation), loading different tabs more quickly, etc.
Important: All projects should have Active in-memory data model enabled. Disabling Active in-memory data model will drastically slow or stop the project's performance.
2: Hierarchical and Optional filters
The Hierarchical and Optional filters section allows you to adjust the hierarchical and optional filter settings, such as whether filter settings are carried over from one report to another.
3: Layouts and Formats
The Layouts and Formats section allows you to adjust related settings such as decimal and thousand separators, date formatting, and theme selection. TheColor templatesand Language administration are also found in this menu.
4: Calculation and Results
The Calculation and Results section shows calculation related settings, such as the number of decimals to be used in sorting, benchmarking, and ranking. The Word cloud exclusion list is also in this menu.
Note: The Chart series rendering setting is located in the section under the name Chart series precision.
4.1: Looped data
The Looped datasubsection allows you to show loop iterator data for all objects to more easily split or compare your looped data. When enabled, the iterators are automatically shown inStoryCreator,Cross Table tool, and when setting up data objects (such ascharts) in StoryTeller.
5: Exports
The Exports section contains settings related to exporting reports.
6: Access Rights
The Access Rights section shows access-related settings, such as enabling access rights for Filters.
7: Events and Forms
The Events and Forms section contains settings relevant to Action Management (Closed Loop) projects and covers items such as locking forms to prevent multiple users accessing at the same time.
8: Email sender address
The Email sender address section allows you to set the default email sender address.
9: Security
In the Security section, you can emable multi-factor authentication for your project and prevent Forsta Visualizations from logging you out of the reports portal after a period of inactivity.
10: Custom code
The Custom code section allows you to apply, update, and maintain HTML and CSS custom code on your project.
This enables you to customize the look and feel of your project and the objects within your slides beyond the native functionality provided by the user interface. See Custom Code to learn more.
11: Project name and location
The Project name and location section allows you to update the project name and the project location (folders). You can re-assign a project to an existing folder. To create a new folder, in Administrate, go to the Projects page and use the Folders Tree View to create a new folder.
12: Linked projects
The Linked projects section allows you to set up links between related projects so that users can switch between projects without logging out and back in again. Additionally, adding project links enables you to set up landing pages with navigation to the different projects.
13: Beta settings
The Beta settings section allows you to enable new features that are currently in the Beta stage of development. This gives you the chance to try new functionality before it is fully released on the platform.
14: Project archiving
The Project archiving section allows you to add the e-mail addresses of people who should recieve information regarding when a project will be archived. You can also disable archiving for the project you are currently viewing.
Projects are automatically archived after six months of inactivity. Projects are restored when any activity is detected, such as user or admin access or a scheduled import.
Restoring a project updates the project to the current version of Forsta Visualizations. Any necessary changes needed for the project to be accessed are done automatically. The restoration process may take some time.
If you restore a project archived before December 2024, no user information is kept in the project. You will need to reinvite users as new users.
If you restore a project archived after December 2024, user information is retained. User preferences and saved items (such as favorites, workbooks, decks, etc.) will also be restored.
Tip: To manually restore a project without accessing it, on the Project Selection page, open the more options (three dots) drop-down menu, and select Restore.
