The June 2026 release introduces enhancements to Metadata Agent and Usage Report, giving you more control over metadata management and greater visibility into the impact of question changes across your project. These updates focus on helping you fine-tune metadata recommendations, compare results across multiple analyses, and better understand where questions are used before making updates. These changes help you make metadata decisions with greater confidence and control.
Data management
Metadata Agent – Custom Rules
Metadata Agent now supports Custom Rules, allowing you to provide additional instructions that guide how metadata suggestions are generated. This gives you more control over the analysis process and helps align recommendations with your organization's reporting standards and metadata requirements.
Create custom rules
After selecting one or more Metadata Agent tasks, you can now:
Write your own custom rules
Use AI assistance to generate custom rules
Continue using the default system prompts
Custom rules are entered through a dedicated dialog, where you can define the instructions the Metadata Agent should follow during analysis. Once created, the rules are shown beneath the selected tasks and are included in the analysis request.
Refine rules during analysis
If the generated suggestions do not meet your expectations, you can update your custom rules directly from the analysis results and run the analysis again.
You can also adjust the selected tasks and revise the rules before starting a new analysis. This makes it easier to refine the output until it aligns with your project requirements.
Combine changes from multiple analyses
You are no longer limited to approving changes from a single Metadata Agent analysis.
The updated workflow allows you to combine approved changes from multiple analyses within the same session before saving them to your project. This makes it easier to test different task selections and rule configurations while building the exact set of changes you want to apply.
Project administration
Usage Report – Report Filters
The Usage Report on the Question page helps you understand where a question is used throughout your project, making it easier to evaluate the impact of metadata changes. The usage report has been expanded to include Report Filters. When reviewing a question's usage, you can now see which reports use that question as a Global Filter or Report Filter. This provides a more complete view of question dependencies across your project.
Overall benefits:
Improved visibility into question usage
Easier impact assessment before updating or deleting questions
Better identification of reports that may be affected by metadata changes
More complete project dependency tracking through filter usage reporting
