Upload your branded PowerPoint layout master template to StoryCreator to create visually consistent and on-brand slide decks.
1: Preparing the Layout Master Template
Before uploading your layout master template, save it in one of the following file formats: PPT, PPTX, POT, POTX.
Storycreator converts the folllowing PowerPoint placeholders as indicated:
Textbox, chart, table and image placeholders are added as StoryCreator objects in your master template. Placeholders are added as the appropriate StoryCreator objects to the slide, positioned to match the master template's layout.
Unsupported placeholders, such as video or smart art, are converted into Multi Objects.
Non-placeholder content, such as static images or icons, appear as part of the slide background.
Regular slides in the uploaded layout master template are included at the beginning of any exported presentation. They are not shown in the online StoryCreator view. Include regular slides to add a cover page or introduction section at the beginning of each export.
2: Uploading a Layout Master Template
To upload and use a layout master template:
-
Open the StoryCreator Setup menu. In the Slide Layout Templates panel, Enable the Layout master template option.
Upload your PowerPoint file (
.PPT,.PPTX,.POT, or.POTX) containing the desired layout master. After upload, select a default layout from the list of available templates.
Click Save.
Note: Only one layout master template can be active per StoryCreator report. Uploading a new one will replace the existing layout. Slides already saved in the deck will attempt to match with the new layout using their template names. If a match isn’t found, the default layout is applied.
3: Using Layout Templates
Uploaded templates appear in the Layout and New Slide panels. You can apply a template when adding a new slide or editing an existing one.
If you change the layout of an existing slide, the new layout background is applied and objects are repositioned to match the new placeholder positions. If the new layout contains more objects than the existing slide, new placeholder objects are created. Existing objects are not removed if the new layout contains less objects than the existing slide.
