The smart legend setting moves repeated text items from the legend into a legend header, making the legend easier to read.
Examples
Below we see the smart legend setting applied to the top image, and not applied in the bottom image.
Example 1: The smart legend setting is applied in the top image, with the repeated question text being moved into a legend header.
Example 2: The smart legend setting is applied in the top image, with the repeated answer label "Swedish Telecom" being moved into a legend header.
Enabling the Smart legend setting
The Smart legend setting is currently disabled by default, but will be enabled by default in newly created charts at a later date.
To enable the Smart legend setting:
Enter the Series setting of your chart
Go to the Axis and Legend entries panel.
Click the "Position repeated legend labels in legend headers" button.
Legend position setting
The repeated text is always positioned above the chart, and is not affected by the "legend position" setting.
In the below example the "legend position" is "right" but the header still shows above the chart.
