Benchmarks allow you to show the difference between for instance the current month and the previous month as shown in the chart image below. Benchmarks are basically subtracting the value of one dimension from another. It can be used for Questions, Answers, Compare Filter, Time periods or across series. The dimension you want to benchmark can be placed between Axis and Legend. The image below shows the difference between January and December in brackets.
To define the benchmark values make a selection as shown in the image below and select what dimension to use in the legend. Also “Show values” must be checked and the same number of decimals in “Show values” will be applied to the benchmark values.
Note: if you would like to use external numbers as benchmarks, you need to upload this datafile first. If you would like to just show for example one line which represents the benchmark for you, please consider using target values.
