The Usage Report helps you identify where questions and answers are used throughout your project. Before modifying or deleting a question or answer, you can use the report to understand its dependencies and evaluate the potential impact of your changes.
1: Purpose of the Usage Report
The Usage Report identifies every location where a question or answer is referenced or applied within your project.
For example, it can show whether a question or answer is:
Used as a Global/Report Filter
Included in StoryTeller objects
Referenced in the expression for a computed variable
Reviewing these dependencies before making changes helps prevent unintended impacts elsewhere in the project.
2: Accessing the Usage Report
You can open the Usage Report from the Questions page using either of the following methods. The column is hidden by default and must be enabled before it can be viewed.
To access the Questions page, while in Administrate select your project, then select Variables from the left side menu, then select Questions from the navigation bar near the top.
Go to the Questions page.
Select the Columns icon near the top right and enable the Usage report column.
Select the Usage report... link for the question or answer you want to inspect.
The Usage Report window displays.
You can also access the Usage report by right-clicking the question you want to inspect. In the context menu, select Usage report.
3:Â Limitations and Considerations
The Report names are based on the Storyteller navigation level report names. This name may differ from the Portal tab name.
