A new category can be added by clicking the “New Category” button. A panel will open that will allow you to enter the name and number of colors for the new category. The “New Category” button is highlighted in the image below.
When new Meta data is added to the project (via for example the data import, the compute variable page, the grouped answer page etc.), the new meta data will use the colors from the “Standard palette” category by default.
When setting up the color template, you can select if the colors will be picked from any other category. The option to select the category that will be assigned to new meta data is shown in the image below.
The image below shows the option that can be enabled if the selected category will be assigned to new meta data.
