In StoryTeller, you can create slide layout templates by uploading a PowerPoint layout master template. This new function simplifies the process of matching corporate branding and designing sophisticated layouts. When creating a new slide, you can select from any available slide layout template, just like in PowerPoint. The placeholders on the master templates, including charts, tables, and text boxes, will be added to the slide as objects and will retain their positions from the master template. This streamlines the report creation process.
To upload a layout master template for use in a StoryTeller report, follow these steps:
Go to the Layout settings/Report Format panel and enable the Layout master template functionality.
Upload a PowerPoint file containing the layout master template in .ppt, .pptx, .pot, or .potx format.
Once the upload is complete, all available layout templates will be listed. Select the layout template to be the default for new slides.
Save your changes.
The uploaded layout templates will now be available in the "Layout" and "New slide" panel for use in the report. Note that only one layout master template can be used at a time, and if a new file is uploaded, previously saved slides will use the new slide master layout instead of the previous one.
To use a layout template, select it from the Layout panel when adding a new slide or editing an existing slide. Objects such as charts, tables, and text boxes in the selected layout template will be added to the slide in the same positions as in the uploaded master template. If you change the layout template of an existing slide, the background of the newly selected layout will be applied and objects will be repositioned based on placeholder position in the selected layout. If the new layout contains more objects, new objects will be added, but if it contains fewer objects, all existing objects will remain.
